CaliforniaVolunteers works to increase the number and impact of Californians engaged in service and volunteerism. Sue Carter, Volunteer San Diego's Executive Director, has been appointed to the Board of Commissioners by the Governor.

AmeriCorps
Each year, several AmeriCorps participants help Volunteer San Diego expand its reach within San Diego. This network of national service programs provides trained, dedicated people to help nonprofits become more effective.

2-1-1 is an easy to remember telephone number that connects callers to information about critical health and human services available in their community. 2-1-1 connects those who wish to give help to Volunteer San Diego.

Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD)
Volunteer San Diego is an active member of VOAD, a group of nonprofit, faith-based and government organizations who work collaboratively on disaster preparedness, response and recovery.

San Diego County Citizen Corps Council
Volunteer San Diego is part of a network of volunteer efforts that prepares local communities to effectively prevent and respond to the threats of terrorism, crime or any kind of disaster.

San Diego Service Inclusion Network
Volunteer San Diego participates in this collaborative network designed to provide people with disabilities the opportunity to engage in meaningful volunteer service.
