support and assistance in the wake of the Hurricane
Katrina and Rita disasters.

Volunteer Locally
- Volunteers are needed to staff the
“Project Restore Hope” Hurricane Katrina and Rita
call center located in Poway. Call center volunteers
will conduct intake interviews, and provide a basic
level of assistance, compassion, counseling and/or
referrals for additional services. Interested?

Volunteer in the effected areas

Katrina Construction Volunteers: If you
have construction skills (handyman or higher) and
would like to be considered for a one-week
deployment to help rebuild homes, please

Healthcare & Relief Personnel: The local
San Diego County Medical Society is continuing the
process of
mobilizing and identifying healthcare professionals
and relief personnel to assist in hurricane
relief efforts.

Donate
- Monetary Donations: can be
made through the
American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund
(earmarked for Hurricane Katrina),
The Salvation Army,
United Way's Hurricane Katrina Response Fund,
or
Network for Good.
At this
time, monetary donations are the greatest need.
Monetary donations will most quickly ensure that the
people in need get what they need the most.
Housing: If you would like to offer housing, you can register
your offer locally with Catholic Charities.

Give Blood: The San Diego Blood Bank is
accepting blood donations for people affected by
the hurricanes. For more information or to schedule an appointment,

hosting a blood mobile or blood drive should contact
