Recovery
Recovery from a disaster can take weeks and months if not several years. Volunteer San Diego works to connect volunteers with ongoing needs long after the initial spotlight has faded.
Community Recovery Team
Volunteer San Diego is proud to partner with the Community Recovery Team (CRT). CRT provides resources and long term support to help rebuild the homes and lives of families affected by disasters.

Fire Recovery Volunteer Program
The 2007 Wildfires were one of the worst disasters in San Diego County's history. Volunteer San Diego worked toward addressing the needs of fire survivors, especially the elderly and most vulnerable citizens, by enlisting individuals and organizations. The support of the community allowed us to help with the difficult process of recovery in the following ways.
Services Provided
101 Properties cleared
29 Street addresses painted
10 Properties wood-chipped
3 Properties shoveled
2 Tree plantings
1 GIS mapping project

Thank You for Your Support
Volunteer San Diego's fire recovery work was made possible by a grant from the After-the-Fire Fund 2007, a fund of the San Diego Regional Disaster Fund, a support organization of The San Diego Foundation.
