NATIONAL & GLOBAL YOUTH SERVICE DAY 2007 Back To Main
  Join Volunteer San Diego’s SAVY (Students Actively Volunteering for You) Leaders at Mission Trails Park on April 21st for a 5K Walk in honor of National and Global Youth Service Day.

Also join us for a Crafts for a Cause volunteer project at the starting point of the walk!
 
Help raise money for education! Funds collected at this event will go towards projects to benefit and empower under-served youth in San Diego County.

When: Saturday, April 21, 2007. Walk begins at 8:15. (Please arrive at 7:45 am for registration.)
Where: Mission Trails Park, East Fortuna Staging Area
-From 52 east, exit Mast Blvd., turn right at light and enter parking lot.  Note: signs off freeway exit will point LEFT to Mission Trails Regional Park, but please make a RIGHT towards the Mission Trails Equestrian Center - trust us, it's right!
-From 52 west, exit Mast Blvd., turn left at light and enter parking lot.  Note: signs off freeway exit will point RIGHT to Mission Trails Regional Park, but please make a LEFT towards the Mission Trails Equestrian Center - trust us, it's left!

How do I register and start fundraising for the walk?
1. Sign up for the project online.
2. Download Sponsorship Packet:
3. Fundraise with your sponsorship forms or start fundraising easily online.

Registration for those that do not fundraise may be paid by check or cash at the event and is as follows:
-$10 for adults
-$8 for students ages 14-18
-$5 for youth under age 14
Why Walk?
To empower young people to do good and to help improve circumstances for under-served youth and local communities as a whole. Donations acquired from this event will benefit SAVY Youth Helping Youth projects.



SAVY Youth Helping Youth
Selected youth groups and schools will each receive $100 for project supplies to volunteer and help meet needs of under-served youth. Youth will help youth by serving meals, renovating youth shelters, tutoring foster youth and much, much more.

Please sponsor a walker to support our youth lending a helping hand to their peers.
