Change your world. Volunteer.   Flex Program Flex Accomplishments What a Difference! Together, Flex Volunteers make a real difference! From July 2008 - June 2009, 10,189 Flex volunteers completed 1,144 projects. They contributed 21,363 hours in service to the San Diego community. Here are Some of Their Accomplishments:   59,777 People received donations of food and clothing 17,228    Meals were served at homeless shelters 12,256   People with HIV/AIDS were served 8,879   Cats at a local shelter were cared for 4,396   Seniors were served meals or enjoyed recreation activities provided by volunteers 3,326   Youth were tutored at local libraries 1,075   Youth were cared for at shelters, women’s centers and after-school programs 377   Children and adults with disabilities enjoyed outings and therapeutic activities 147   Bags of trash were collected from beaches and local parks
