Kick-off Projects at Wilson Middle School

Volunteer at one of our exciting Kick-off Projects at
Wilson Middle School in City Heights on
Saturday and Sunday, September 22nd and 23rd, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

All you have to do is sign up and show up for this extreme makeover! We will have all the project supplies ready and waiting for you. Join community members, students, parents, and other volunteers to paint, build, garden and more. Bring the family – there will be special activities for kids 5-14 years old! Sign up today! • Paint murals • Repaint basketball lines • Plant trees, flowers and more • Repaint school buildings • Install new fans in the classrooms • And more!

What to bring:

Wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting dirty & closed-toe shoes
Protection from the sun (hat, sunscreen, etc.)
A pair of work or gardening gloves, if you have them
(optional) A new book for the Wilson Middle School library - non-fiction books of all topics are especially needed, reading levels 3rd-9th grades

Team Captains needed!
Looking for a new challenge? If you enjoy working with people and can organize and motivate fellow volunteers, then this is the role for you! Team Captains will lead small groups of volunteers, give instructions about specific projects, keep volunteers on schedule, keep them going with supplies, and generally make sure the projects run smoothly. Participate in our Superhero Challenge. Events like these take a lot of time and supplies to complete. Support Hands On San Diego and our year-round volunteer programs by inviting family and friends to sponsor your volunteer efforts (make it a "serve-a-thon"). Can't volunteer this year? Be a virtual volunteer and sponsor others! There are many ways to give back and earn your cape!
