Service to the community is an excellent opportunity for classrooms and youth groups to build teamwork, experience new skills and have fun all while making a difference. Groups can find partners to serve and find possible internships through our Guide to Youth Volunteer Opportunities. Individuals and groups can volunteer any day and time of the week through our Project Calendar.

Service-Learning Resources

Service-learning is a project-based teaching strategy that engages youth in positive social, intellectual and leadership development by fusing academic content with meaningful service to their schools and community. Volunteer San Diego partners with Excel Youth Zone as the premier provider of service-learning resources and services in San Diego County.
