Engaging
Students: Service Event (FREE)
Presented by the Service-Learning Council of San
Diego
February 5, 2009 4:00 - 5:30pm @ United Way Building
(home to Volunteer San Diego)
The
purpose of this event is to generate ideas and
ways to engage students in service and to
create collaborations between educators, students
and organizations. Please join us in recognizing
and encouraging outstanding service throughout San
Diego County.
During this
event you will have the
opportunity to meet and network with educators, students
and organizations and hear from special guest
speaker from Project Success/United Cerebral
Palsy of San Diego County. Participants will then
discuss
service project
ideas, engaging students, best practices and
creating effective collaborations
in a World Café discussion group hosted by
Service-Learning practitioners.
The
Service Learning Council hopes this event will bring
organizations, educators, and students together to
share ideas and resources for engaging students in
service.
To attend this free event, please email
savy@volunteersandiego.org. We encourage all
participants to bring resources to share from their
organizations, schools, or projects to put out on
our Resource Table to share with other participants.
If
you or your organization would like to donate, an
item(s) or services, to the raffle or volunteer a
couple hours a month towards planning this FREE
event, please contact
Jen Hamilton at
jhamilton@volunteersandiego.org
or 858-636-4137.
*The
Service-Learning Council will host two events a year,
and would appreciate your support in planning the
events so the events to remain free resource for
educators, students, and organizations. |
