Thank
you to the 2006/2007 SAVY Leaders for fundraising A
LOT of money–
all of which will be used to benefit other youth in
the community and this program!
WHAT are SAVY Grants?
SAVY Grants are $100 grants administered and
reviewed by Students Actively Volunteering
for You - this includes youth and adults that
make up Volunteer San Diego's entire youth
department team!
Grants will be awarded to help fund youth service
projects aiding disadvantaged/under-served youth or
disadvantaged/underserved youth planning and
implementing volunteer projects. The SAVY
Grant Program's goal is to support projects that
identify a community need and work to develop
effective and meaningful solutions for
disadvantaged/under-served youth.
When should I apply?
Each month, the SAVY Grants Program offers $100
grants to fund youth service projects. The
application process runs on a monthly schedule.
Please submit your application at least one
month before the actual project.
Mini-grant applications must be submitted to
Volunteer San Diego by 5pm on the first Monday of
each month. SAVY Leaders will review the
materials and notify applicants within that month.

Grant Writing to Support Implementing a Service-Learning Program
Volunteer San Diego has over 20 years experience
managing our own service-learning club and 13 years
training and consulting educators and administrators
in successfully implementing service-learning
programs. With budget cuts impacting student
programming throughout our county, your school or
organization is perfectly poised to request grant
funding from foundations to support service-learning
as a sustainable budget friendly solution to the
ever increasing achievement gap and student drops
outs and poor attendance. Volunteer San Diego has
the experience successfully writing grants to
support our own service-learning programs and
co-writing grants in partnership with schools and
organizations to fund the necessary strategies to
implement a service-learning program. We can
research, write and co-author grants to provide
educators with the training, coaching and resources
need to maintain a sustainable service-learning
program.
For
our grant writing, we charge $50-60 per hour
depending on the service and associated expense.
