Description:
Volunteer San Diego (VSD) is seeking volunteers to support the Volunteer Referral Program. Volunteers will have the opportunity to match interested volunteers with potential volunteer opportunities within our network of over 700 community organizations. Volunteers will collect information from interested volunteers, search our database for possible volunteer opportunities according to the volunteer’s interests, and provide information on getting started as a volunteer!
Volunteers can choose one or more of the following tasks:
• Match volunteers, via phone and/or email, with volunteer opportunities at community organizations throughout San Diego County.
• Track information in the VSD database.
• Follow-up with volunteers that received volunteer opportunities through VSD.
Preferred Experience for Position:
• Some customer service experience
• Work independently as well as part of a team
• Bilingual a plus
Position Requirements:
• Must be able to commit a minimum of 2-3 hours per week for 3 months.
• Available during our office hours; Monday – Friday from 9am to 4:30pm
Training:
• Orientation to Volunteer San Diego
• Specific hands-on training for the Volunteer Referral Program
• Staff support throughout your experience

About VSD’s Volunteer Referral Program:
The Volunteer Referral Program provides assistance and information to community members interested in volunteering in their community. The program consists of answering inquiries from the Volunteer Hotline (phone and email inquiries), matching volunteers with community organizations based on the volunteer’s interests and skills and the organization’s needs, and providing website technical support.
