Description:
October 2, from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Location: Metro – San Diego, 92123
Description: Hand Up Youth Food Pantry distributes more than 1,500 food bags every month to more than 800 people in need. More people are in need of emergency food assistance - people who have never needed it before. Food bags are served at 12 sites across the county to military families, at-risk youth, older adults, low income families and homeless individuals. Hand Up needs your help to sort through donations, stock the food pantry shelves and assemble food bags.
Volunteers make a real difference in helping to alleviate hunger in San Diego. Come learn about the ins and outs of a food pantry, get some hands on experience and connect with JFS for ongoing community service opportunities. Volunteers will assemble 300 food bags, and sort through 2,000 lbs of donated food.
