Description: Do you spend you weekends doing home improvement projects? Are you obsessed with interior design shows? Consider yourself a whiz at turning a drab into a swank? Or simply want to get involved with a meaningful project in your community? It’s time to put your creative energy to good use! Help North County Lifeline renovate our Employment Room!
North County Lifeline’s Employment Room provides a space for unemployed and underemployed clientele to meet with case managers, look for jobs, create or update resumes, participate in mock interviews, improve on existing skills and learn new ones. Help us create a space that looks and feels like a real office by helping us out with the following tasks: painting, installing key cabinet, rearranging furniture, stocking folders and templates for resumes, cover letters, thank you letters, etc., and more.
Connection to Poverty in San Diego County: Lifeline’s Employment Room is a space dedicated to helping unemployed and underemployed clientele, many of the facing poverty and even homelessness, to achieve self-sufficiency through providing training in the areas of job skills, interview techniques, resume-writing, conducting a job search, etc.
Minimum Age: 16 with an adult; 16 without an adult
Volunteers Needed: 15
Supplies Needed: Volunteers may bring paint brushes, gloves, and any office room supplies you may wish to donate(including plants, wall hangings/large picture frames, bulletin boards, file folders, resume-writing software/templates, etc.).
This project is approved for volunteers with the following restrictions: Court-Ordered, Allow Pending Members
